• If a task or procedure could splash, spray or spatter blood or <br /> other postentially infectious materials, wear appropriate PPE <br /> such as: <br /> a. Long-sleeved gown <br /> b. Eye and face protection <br /> • Remove contaminated PPE promptly without letting it touch <br /> your skin <br /> 6. Follow Good Hygiene and Work Practices: <br /> • Wash hands with soap and warm running water as quickly as <br /> possible after contact with blood or potentially infectious <br /> materials <br /> 1.. Flush eyes or mucous membranes with water promptly <br /> after exposure <br /> • Wash.hands thoroughly after removing gloves or other PPE <br /> 1. Handle faucets and dry hands with separate clean paper <br /> towels <br /> • Don't pick up contaminated glass by hand <br /> • Minimize handling of contaminated daundry,place wet <br /> contaminated laundry in leadproof bags <br /> • Follow cleaning and decontamination schedules for equipment, <br /> surfaces and reusable containers <br /> • Don't eat or drink in areas with possible=exposure to <br /> bloodborne pathogens <br /> 7. Take Advantage of Medical Protection Programs: <br /> • Have a hepatitis B vaccination if offered <br /> • Report any possible exposure incident immediately <br />
