PROCEDURES <br /> A. Set Up of Medium: <br /> Wash hands. <br /> Remove covering from reclining chair. <br /> Wash hands. <br /> Don clean, unused disposable gloves. <br /> Decontaminate workstation, to include but not limited to chair's, <br /> light source table and countertop mediums with appropriate <br /> disinfectant according to manufacture's directions. (To be visibally <br /> wet on surface for (2) minutes.) <br /> Doff gloves, wash hands and Don new gloves. <br /> Set Up waterproof, disposable table cover, chair cover. <br /> Cover Pen machine with disposable cover. <br /> Set up Machine with appropriate Sterile, Disposable <br /> attachments. <br /> Doff gloves, wash hands. <br /> B. Review Client consent form item for item. (See consent form). <br /> Answer all clients questions. <br /> C. Procedure: <br /> Wash and dry hands. <br /> Don clean apron, lab coat or appropriate covering. <br /> Don PPE as appropriate. <br /> Don clean, unused, disposable examination gloves <br /> just prior to procedure. (If gloves come into contact <br /> with object or surface, or skin not directly involved in <br /> procedure , or if glove becomes torn or punctured, remove both <br /> gloves, wash hands and don new gloves. <br /> Prepare body site with antiseptic or antimicrobial solution <br /> according to manufacturer's instructions. ( discard after use.) <br /> Again, answer questions regarding procedure. <br />
