SUBJECT: HAZARDOUS SPILLS MANAGEMENT <br />TITLE: HAZARDOUS SPILLS RESPONSE PLAN <br />PAGE 6 OF 7 <br />3~REPORTABLE RELEASES: <br />A. Spills of 'extremely hazardous' substances, spills <br />requiring evacuation or causing explosion and/or fire, <br />or any spills which release into the external <br />environment shall be reported to the Safety Officer. <br />, The Safety Officer will then notify (within 24 hours): <br />1. San Joaquin County Environmental Health (local <br />aaency) at (209) 46e-3459 <br />2. The State Office of Emergency Services (916) 427- <br />4341 ' <br />3. CAL/OSHA - Chief Administrative Officer Division <br />of Occupational Safety and Health <br />P. O. Box 603 <br />San Francisco, CA. 94101 <br />. 4. The Reaional Safety Director/Workers' Compensation <br />Department <br />5~ In behalf of the Administrator, the Regional` <br />Medical Centers Administrator <br />A. All hazardous waste will be disposed or in accordance with <br />a 1 Federal. State and Local Regulations. 4t time of <br />disposal, the HAzardous Waste Manifestis prepared and <br />proce*ssed by the Environmental Services_Manager. A copy <br />of the manifest is retained by the Environmental Department, <br />a copy is sent to the Safety Officer, and a copy is sent to <br />-the State Department of Heal-th.,-as'' per normal procedure. <br />5. THE SAFETY OFFICER'S RESPONSIBILITY IN THE HAZARDOUS MATERIALS <br />PLAN SHALL INCLUDE: <br />A. Being knowledgeable of the laws/regulations, and keeping <br />updated on any changes. <br />B. Advising Administration on compliance needs, and making <br />recommendations toward this end. <br />C. Assisting Department Managers in departmental education/ <br />orientation, and implementation.
