Monitoring compliance with the Hazardous Materials program, <br />maintaining the files of spill reports, environmental <br />monitoring performed, inspections, & consultation services. <br />&. TRAINING REQUIREMENTS FOR HAZARDOUS MATERIALS: <br />A. All new employees, and on an annual basis for current <br />employees, and any time a new product is introduced into a <br />department, education is to be provided, which includes: <br />1> Location of the departmental MSDS Manual <br />2) Location bf departmental hazardous Materials' Inventory <br />List* <br />3) Explanaibn of Purpose and Use of MASS <br />Notev The following information is provided on an MSDS <br />and should be reviewed with employees: <br />A) Health hazard effects of the substance. <br />B) Safe handling methods and safe. work practices. ' <br />' C) Ifprotective clothing orspecial protection is <br />required: how to use these and where are they <br />stored. <br />D) Safe storage and disposal �of substance. <br />E) Spillclean up procedures. ' <br />F) First Aid.measures for exposures or injury. <br />G) Reporting procedure in the event of a spill. <br />H1 Methods and observations they may u=e to detect <br />the, presence*of hazardous chemical in their work <br />area. 'Employees should be informed of the visual <br />appearance or smell of the chemicals they may be <br />exposed to, sothey know when theseare being <br />released into work area. <br />B. Records of such training are maintained by the manager/ <br />Supervisor in the department. <br />C. Mama|ers/Smpervi'-sare responsible to monitor their <br />staff's compliance with the facility's Hazard Communication <br />Plan and required departmental/facility safety practices. <br />
