To close, push the drawer back into the unit, lift rails, unhook door latch from the <br />wall. <br />E. When closing the unit door: <br />Turn the arrow knob on the autoclave handle to the DOWN position. <br />2. Move the handle up and down until the door is closed well. Do not force with <br />strength. <br />3. When initially closing the door, place your hand on the door handle and push <br />lightly. <br />4. When closed, close the locking lever at the top. <br />F. Return chain and padlock to locked position on the outside of door. The key must be <br />returned to the Basement Janitor Room where appropriately stored. <br />G. Return waterproof -heat resistant gloves to designated location for use at a later time. <br />H. Clean the area by using the water hose located at the sterilizer to wash down any liquids <br />that may spill while loading or unloading bags. The dock and sterilizer tray/drawer must <br />be hosed down to keep the area clean after each use. <br />VI. Responsibilities <br />A. Housekeeping is responsible to report to Engineering any problems or unusual conditions <br />found regarding the sterilizing unit. <br />B. Engineering shall be responsible for making repairs and changing the graph as need is <br />reported by Housekeeping. <br />C. Spore testing will be processed on a monthly basis by the Laboratory Department. <br />Housekeeping will initiate the test. Test results will be maintained in the Lab. <br />D. American Environmental Management Corp. (a licensed waste hauler) will be utilized to <br />provide back-up collection/disposal service due to a malfunction in the sterilizing <br />equipment unit. <br />E. Suitable signage will be displayed on the exterior of the unit for content identification and <br />all other warning messages as appropriate. <br />
