San-I-Pak Equipment Failures and Spills <br />1. Equipment will go into alarm mode and the system will self diagnose service issues <br />2. The system will display corrective procedures to the operator. <br />3. The unit will be equipped with a steam gun that will be available should there be a spill. <br />4. Training will be provided by San-I-Pak Inc. to users and shall involve classroom and hands <br />on Instruction. <br />5. Staff will receive training on how to manage spills that occur with the San-I-Pak autoclave <br />system. <br />6. CHCF Policies and Procedure Ch. 3, Sect. 3, Waste Management, Soiled Linen, Rodent <br />Control, is in place and shall be followed and outlines steps to be taken in the event there is <br />leakage or a spill. <br />7. CHCF Policy & Procedure Ch.3, Sect. 4 Emergency Procedures for Exposure to Blood, <br />Body Fluids or Other Potentially Infectious Materials is in place and shall be followed in the <br />event of exposure. <br />8. In the event of catastrophic equipment failure, CHCF shall use an outside alternate <br />contracted vender vendor hauler and retain medical waste for no more than seven days from <br />the point of generation. <br />
