Procedures for sealing the roll -off container prior to transport. <br />MEDICAL WASTE EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN <br />Exposures <br />1. An employee who sustains a known or potential exposure incident must treat the affected <br />area immediately by following the appropriate exposure incident response below. <br />Employees should immediately report the exposure incident to their supervisor and seek <br />medical attention. <br />2. Initial Management of Potential Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) Exposures; Treatment; HIV <br />Testing procedures are outlined in CHCF Policy and Procedures manual Volume VI; <br />Chapter 3; Section 4 Emergency Procedures For Exposure to Blood, Body Fluids, And <br />Other Potentially Infectious Materials. <br />San -I -Pak Equipment Failures and Spills <br />1. Equipment will go into alarm mode and the system will self diagnose service issues <br />2. The system will display corrective procedures to the operator. <br />3. The unit will be equipped with a steam gun that will be available should there be a spill. <br />4. Training will be provided by San -I -Pak Inc. to users and shall involve classroom and hands <br />on Instruction. <br />5. Staff will receive training on how to manage spills that occur with the San -I -Pak autoclave <br />system. <br />
