0 ! <br />Name: Medical Waste Inspection Plan of Correction <br />Date: 4/10/14 <br />Page 3 <br />7. §118275(g) — Pharmaceutical waste containers located throughout the facility <br />were not labeled properly and were missing lids. Pharmaceutical waste containers <br />shall be labeled with the words "INCINERATION ONLY" on the lid and on the sides. <br />The CHCF Medical Waste Management Plan has been updated to reflect the <br />labeling requirement for Pharmaceutical waste containers and now states <br />"Pharmaceutical waste containers shall be labeled with the words <br />"INCINERATION ONLY" on the lid and on the sides." These labels were <br />immediately produced and placed on all Pharmaceutical waste containers <br />throughout the facility. Compliance with this measure will be incorporated into the <br />facility's Continuous Quality Improvement Program through the performance of <br />random monthly audits. <br />8. §118215 (a)(2)(D) — Monthly biological indicators of adequate sterilization (spore <br />test) were not available. Begin conducting spore tests immediately. <br />CHCF immediately began the process of spore testing. Compliance with this <br />measure will be incorporated into the facility's Continuous Quality Improvement <br />Program through the performance of random monthly audits. <br />9. §118215 (a)(2)(E) —Some records of steam sterilization were available, but were <br />not current. Spore tests results were unavailable for review. Records must be <br />maintained onsite for review for no less than three years. <br />CHCF will provide records of steam sterilization and spore testing to the <br />department upon request and will maintain these records onsite for review for no <br />less than three years.
