INDIVIDUAL PLAN <br />The following application form is designed to assist you in <br />developing your operating plan for the management of infectious <br />waste within your facility. <br />1. POLICY <br />All infectious waste (as defined by the California Health and <br />Safety Code), except certain recognizable anatomical remains <br />and/or pathological specimens, will be disposed of by the (1) <br />department under the supervision of (2) , certain <br />recognizable anatomical remains and/or pathological specimens will <br />be disposed of in the (3) <br />2.. PROCEDURES <br />A. As a minimum, all infectious waste will be collected within <br />the area of origin and shall be double -bagged in red plastic bags <br />of at least 165 gram dart impact resistant. The first red <br />collection bag will be placed into a second red bag that has not <br />been brought into the infectious area. Bagging is to be done iii a <br />manner which will reduce the hazard of injury or disease <br />transmission. <br />B. All used needles and syringes are to be considered as <br />infectious waste. in accordance with state law, they -must be <br />rendered unusable before disposal. <br />C. The (4) ., who have collected the <br />infectious waste and subsequently double -bagged it, will then <br />route it to the (5) . <br />
