In the (6), the double -bagged <br />infectious waste will be placed directly into a leak -proof, <br />rodent -proof, storage container with a tight fitting lid, provided <br />and maintained by Bingham. The storage container will be <br />identified with a numerical code designating the generating <br />institution and labeled with the words "Infectious waste', or the <br />international biohazard symbol and the word "Bi®hazard". <br />E. The storage containers will be located at the institution in <br />an area that is secured to deny access to unauthorized personnel. <br />This area will display prominent warning signs in English <br />"Caution --infectious waste storage area-- unauthorized persons <br />keep out", and in Spanish--"Cuidado -- zona de residuos <br />infectados -- prohibida la entrada a personas no autorizadas". <br />This area will be well ventilated and kept clean at all times. <br />F. The storage containers will be picked up by Bingham intact as <br />a unit, as often as required, but in any event, often enough so as <br />to avoid the putrification of the waste contained therein. <br />G. The volume of infectious waste to be transported and <br />incinerated or sterilized per week is estimated at (7) lbs. <br />H. Each new (8) will receive an in-depth <br />orientation in the procedure for the in-house collection, <br />transportation, and/or storage of infectious waste at this <br />institution prior to his/her first day on the job. Continual in- <br />service training will be supervised by the person in charge of <br />this area. <br />I. The local Director of Health will be promptly notified if this <br />Individual Plan for Off -Site Infectious Waste Disposal is either <br />discontinued or altered. <br />SIGNATURE <br />TITLE <br />DATE <br />
