Page # I--) <br />E. <br />Attending Phvsician: <br />The attending physician is responsible for reporting infections, <br />ordering cultures to identify pathogens and antibiotic sensitivity, <br />and determining the need for antibiotics or other treatments. <br />F. <br />Pharmacist: <br />The pharmacist dispenses all drugs to the facility. The Pharmicist <br />provides the nursing staff with pertinent information regardinng <br />sensitivity and incompatibility of drugs related to control and/or <br />treatment of infections. The pharmacist is to be available as a <br />consultant. <br />G. <br />Housekeeping, Dietary, Laundry and Maintenance Departments: <br />Please see attached responsibilities, policies, and procedures for <br />these departments. <br />H. <br />Inservice Department: <br />Inservice education programs will be provided so that all employees: <br />i <br />1. Understand the nature of the infectious process. <br />2. Recognize and report evidence of infection and/or disease <br />processes. <br />3. Understand and carry out measures to safeguard their own <br />health and patient health. <br />4.
