Onsite location and method for segregation, containment, packaging, labeling and <br /> collection, including pharmaceutical waste: <br /> Medical wastes are contained separately from other wastes at the point of <br /> generation. <br /> Medical wastes are placed in red biohazard bags. <br /> Sharps waste are contained in sharps containers. <br /> Red biohazard bags (when full) are tied. <br /> Red biohazard bags are placed for storage,handling and transparent in <br /> rigid containers with tight-fitting lids labeled with the words "Biohazards <br /> Waste"or the word"Biohazards" and the international biohazard symbol <br /> on the lids and sides so as to be visible from any lateral direction. <br /> b. Storage area description with storage methods utilized for each waste stream <br /> including any pharmaceutical waste: <br /> Vienna has a designated interim storage used for the storage of medical <br /> waste containers prior to transfer to the accumulation area. This area is <br /> secured by use of a lock on the entry door to prevent or deny access by <br /> unauthorized person and posted with warning signs to the exterior of the <br /> entry door and readily legible from a distance of 5 feet. <br /> i Describe training provided to staff regarding handling, storage, disposal and <br /> record keeping of all medical waste, including pharmaceutical waste, at your <br /> facility: <br /> Training is provided to new employees regarding handling, storage and <br /> disposal of all medical waste in accordance with Health and Safety Code <br /> Chapter 6.1, section 117600-118360 and other applicable regulations <br /> during orientation and annually thereafter to all employees. Training <br /> includes: Bloodborne Pathogens,Exposure Control Plan,Aerosol <br /> Transmissible Diseases(ATD), ATD exposure Control Plan,Hazard <br /> Communication,Respirator Safety, Use of Personal Protective Equipment <br /> and Needlestick Prevention. <br /> Recordkeeping: All the training provided at Vienna are maintained for a <br /> period of four years and will be kept in a designated area. The following <br /> information are documented: the dates and content of the training sessions, <br /> an outline describing the material presented, names and job titles of <br /> attendees and names and qualifications of persons conducting the training <br /> sessions. <br />
