Policy Date: 1/1/01 <br /> PERSONAL PROTECTIVE Policy Sponsor: Clinical/Infection Prevention <br /> EQUIPMENT GUIDELINES <br /> 1.0 PURPOSE <br /> Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided to our employees at no cost to them. Training <br /> is provided in the use of the appropriate PPE for the tasks or procedures that employees will <br /> perform. The facility is responsible to clean, maintain and/or dispose of PPE. Home laundering <br /> is not permitted. <br /> 2.0 FUNDAMENTAL INFORMATION <br /> 2.1 PPE FOR VENDOR EMPLOYEES <br /> Employees of other companies working in the facility must wear personal'protective equipment <br /> when occupation exposure may occur. Vendors will provide personal protective equipment <br /> (PPE) for their employees. If a vendor's employee does not have personal protective <br /> equipment, the facility must provide it. <br /> 2.2 PPE FOR FACILITY EMPLOYEES <br /> PPE is located in the clean utility areas and may be obtained through the charge nurse.
