Contractor shall provide on an as needed basis, storage sheds for <br />the contractor furnished containers. Storage sheds shall accommodate <br />approximately 3 individual 44 gallon barrels and approximately seven (7) 24' x 18" <br />boxes. Storage shed shall be 6' high x 7' long x 5' wide and must be small enough to <br />fit within the Medical Unit sallyport. Pick-up vehicle must be able to back up to shed <br />to load infectious waste containers. i <br />The quantity and number of container Pick-ups stated are estimates only. The <br />State makes no guarantee as to actual quantities or number of containers that <br />may be picked up for any week. <br />The State reserves the right to request additional or fewer containers, at the same <br />quoted rate, and to designate placement as needed. <br />METHOD OFTREATIVIFNT <br />Medical waste treatment shall be by either incineration or steam sterilization as per <br />HSC, Article 9, Treatment. Contractor shall be certified to provide both methods. <br />A. INCINERATION - shall be in accordance with requirements set forth in HCS, <br />Article 2, Section 25020.5(8) and HSC, Article 9, Section 25090(a) and Section <br />25090.5. <br />B. STEAM STERILIZATION - shall be in accordance with requirements set forth in <br />HCS, Article 9, Section 25090(b) <br />QaEQaALMM <br />All medical wastes shall be disposed of at a licensed medical waste treatment, storage <br />and disposal facility approved by the State of California, Department of Health Services, <br />Environmental Management Division. Contractor shall identify on the Bid Proposal, the <br />location of the incinerator site for the incineration of the institution medical waste and <br />the landfill disposal site(s) for the disposal of the medical waste ash residue to.be used <br />under normal conditions.
