Manufacturing management are responsible for ensuring staff <br /> comply with System procedures for tracked waste which is not <br /> covered by this program. <br /> C. Safety Department Staff <br /> 1. Review state/local requirements and modify this procedure to <br /> include those requirements. <br /> 2. Complete and submit any and all paperwork regarding permitting <br /> and licensing for regulated medical waste for facilities and vehicles <br /> as appropriate. <br /> 3. Develop and submit regulated medical waste reports as required by <br /> law. <br /> 4. Function as inspection point of contact for regulated medical waste <br /> inspections. Notify regional Quality department of any and all <br /> inspections. <br /> IV. PROCEDURES <br /> A. Segregation <br /> 1. These are examples of materials that would be discarded as regulated <br /> medical waste: <br /> • Visibly bloody tubing <br /> • Visibly contaminated PPE <br /> • Saturated gauze <br /> • Saturated bandages <br /> • Saturated items <br /> • Closed disposable sharps containers <br /> 2.
