AMERICAN MEDIC RESPONSE MEDICAL WASTE MAGEMENT PLAN <br /> 6.0 MEDICAL WASTE GENERATED: <br /> 6.1 AMR San Joaquin generates the following medical wastes: <br /> ■ Sharps* —syringes, sharps, lancets, I.V. catheters <br /> ■ Bandages soiled with human body fluids <br /> ■ Solid linens <br /> ■ Contaminated trauma equipment i.e. straps, Oxygen therapy / treatment <br /> equipment <br /> ■ Contaminated gloves <br /> ■ Soiled linens <br /> *Only Safer Sharps are used by AMR San Joaquin County Operations. A "Sharps <br /> Exposure Log" is maintained by the AMR Safety & Risk Department for any Sharp <br /> Exposure <br /> 6.2 Medical/Infectious Wastes Generated: <br /> Less than 200 pounds of Infectious Wastes are generated monthly, but <br /> occasionally exceeds 200 pounds, which is the reason for filing this plan <br /> and AMR San Joaquin County Operations being classified as a Large <br /> Quantity Generator. <br /> 6.3 AMR does not conduct any treatment on site of Infectious Wastes <br /> 7.0 TREATMENT: <br /> 7.1 NO on-site treatment is permitted. Stricycle Medical Waste removes all <br /> Infectious Waste off-site for treatment. <br /> Business Offices: <br /> Stericycle, Inc. <br /> 2775 East 2e Street <br /> Vernon, CA 90023 <br /> 8.0 LIMITED QUANTITY HAULER EXEMPTION: <br /> AMR is approved for a Limited Quantity Hauler Exemption. AMR transports <20 <br /> pounds of Infectious Waste at any one time in a Ambulance, Operations vehicle or <br /> Supervisor vehicle. All Infectious Wastes from on-scene medical calls are <br /> transported back to the San Joaquin County Operations, where it is placed into Hard <br /> Barrels provided by our vendor Stricycle. Enclosed, as Attachment (B) is a list of all <br /> employees authorized to transport Infectious Waste back to the Lindsay Street <br /> Operations. All sharp containers are also transported back to the Operations Center <br /> and placed into the Hard Gray barrels provide by Stricycle for disposal. Out of date <br /> drugs are placed into a separate drum fro disposal. <br /> 3 <br />
