AMERICAN MEDICAL RESPONSE MEDICAL WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN <br /> o The dates of the training session. <br /> o An outline of the training session and materials presented. <br /> o Test results <br /> o Training Certificate <br /> 18.0 PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: <br /> 18.lAccessibility: The Operations Supervisor shall ensure that appropriate <br /> PPE in the appropriate sizes is readily accessible at the Operations and <br /> is issued without cost to employees. <br /> 18.20eaning, laundering and disposal: All Personal Protective Equipment <br /> will be either cleaned, laundered or disposed of by the employer at no <br /> cost to the employees. All garments that are penetrated by blood shall <br /> be removed immediately or as <br /> soon as feasible. All PPE will be removed prior to leaving the work <br /> area. When PPE is removed, it shall be placed in an appropriately <br /> designated area or container for storage, washing, decontamination or <br /> appropriate disposal. <br /> 18.3 The following PPE is available in each Ambulance: <br /> ■ Protective Gown/open back <br /> ■ Face mask with Eye shield or Safety Glasses w/NEPA <br /> mask <br /> ■ Latex gloves <br /> ■ Shoe covers <br /> ■ Biohazard waste bag <br /> ■ Yellow Hazardous Laundry bag <br /> ■ Melt-away bag <br /> ■ Surgical Mask <br /> ■ Respirator <br /> ■ Antiseptic wipes <br /> 18AGloves: Gloves shall be worn where it is anticipated that employees <br /> will have hand contact with blood, non-intact skin, mucous membranes or <br /> other potentially infectious materials; and when handling or touching <br /> contaminated items or surfaces. <br /> Disposable gloves used at this facility are not to be washed or <br /> decontaminated for re-use. They are to be replaced when they become <br /> contaminated, or if they are torn, punctured, or when their ability to <br /> function as a barrier is compromised. <br /> 9 <br />
