�111 9 <br />STORAGE: <br />Biohazardous Materials <br />*Cadaveric specimens will be stored, until used, in locked <br />freezers (temperature maintained at a minimum of <br />0 degree Centigrade) for no longer than a continuous <br />1 -year period. <br />°`Cadaveric specimens will be thawed in an approved leak <br />proof container at ambient temperature for 24hrs <br />prior to use. <br />`Cadaveric specimens that exceed the above stated time <br />Limits will not be used, and will be considered <br />biohazardous waste and disposed of accordingly. <br />Surgical Instruments will be stored in designated <br />containers with appropriate decontamination solutions, for <br />no longer than 8 hrs, until cleaned. <br />(*Cadaveric Specimens- classified as tissue and <br />pathological Waste, NOT full cadaver) <br />Biohazardous Waste <br />Waste must be segregated at the point of origin and <br />placed inside designated Biohazardous waste bags and <br />into containers with tight fitting lids. If pickup of material <br />is not immediate (within 48 hrs) all waste will be stored in <br />a locking freezer at 0 degree Celsius inside appropriate <br />waste bags until the designated waste hauler arrives. All <br />waste shall be double "RED" bagged. All waste will be <br />scheduled for pick-up within seven days of generation. <br />(See Exclusion for Sharps) <br />Putrescible waste must not be stored for longer than 7 <br />days. Non-putrescible waste must not be stored for <br />longer than 1 month. Please note all waste will be stored in <br />
