i .. <br />a locking freezer at 0 degree Celsius for scheduled pickup <br />within 7 days of generation. <br />Contaminated Linen <br />All linen (scrubs, towels, etc.) shall be stored in a red bio <br />container and then laundered within 24 hours. <br />Biohazardous Waste ( SHARPS ) <br />Sharps must be segregated at the point of origin and <br />placed inside designated, puncture resistant biohazardous <br />waste sharps containers. <br />Sharps Exception: Storage of sharps must not exceed <br />1 month for an individual container that is less than 20 lbs <br />in weight per month. If a sharps container is full it may be <br />stored in a locking freezer at 0 degree Celsius for up to <br />90. <br />Sharps containers shall be labeled with the facility name <br />and date of initial use. Upon disposal, all containers shall <br />be sealed with tape and all lids or locks secured prior to <br />the waste hauler removing them from the premises. <br />Pathological Waste (Used Cadaveric Specimens) <br />Waste must be placed inside "RED" biohazardous waste <br />bags (Double Bagged), tagged with company name and <br />frozen. <br />Storage of Pathological waste must not exceed 1 month. <br />The shipping of Biohazardous materials, by any Pacific <br />Medical personnel, is strictly prohibited. <br />The shipping of Biohazardous waste will be allowed only <br />with a registered authorized waste hauler.
