E. Emergency plan <br /> • In the event of a spill, staff must follow these instructions: <br /> o Wear gloves; <br /> o Contain spillage & use Polysorb [or alternate product] to absorb the spillage; <br /> o Clean area with Envirocide, leaving the disinfectant on the surface for 10 <br /> minutes before wiping. <br /> o Place in red hazardous waste bag and store in appropriate location. <br /> • In the event of a natural disaster [fire, flood, earthquake], notify Facilities Department <br /> of PPMM or the Environmental Health Department of the county in which the disaster <br /> occurred. <br /> F. Training: all health centers will review waste management procedures at their annual safety <br /> updates. Minutes of meetings, with attendee signatures, will be keep 3 years. <br /> G. Tracking: each health center will maintain a record of waste removal for 3 years. <br /> H. Supervision <br /> • The Medical Waste Management Program is under the Facilities Department; <br /> • Medical consultation is provided by AVPCQ&P and CMO; <br /> • Onsite supervision of medical waste is under the QMC. <br />
