16.1. Policy It is the policy of Sodexo Laundry Stockton to exhibit due diligence in returning items lost at healthcare facilities and suspected of being in soiled linen. Any unclaimed items found at Sodexo Laundry Stockton will be kept by the Customer Service Department for a period of one month. 16.2. Procedures Personal Patient Items: jewelry, clothing, glasses, money, identification cards, etc. Hospital Items (Not "Sharps"): non -disposable medical equipment, surgical instruments, etc. • Notify supervisor if an item of apparent value is found. • Place items in bag. • Supervisor fills out Lost & Found slip making a special effort to identify the account name. • Staple Lost & Found slip to the bag. • Customer Service or Office Personnel to call account and if appropriate, deliver the item to the Transportation department to return to the account. If not, other alternative return solutions to be developed with the owner. • Give item to Transportation Department if acceptable. • All items must be bagged and sealed. 16.3. Procedure for Telephone Calls to Sodexo Laundty Stockton. • All calls are to be routed to Front Office at time of call. • Office Personnel will log each call for Lost and Found Item in the Lost and Found Book noting date, item description, facility calling, persons name who called, date lost and phone or contact number. • Office Personnel will contact shift manager and notify them of the request for Lost item and the account if came from. Should the item be found, it must be returned to the Office and Office Personnel will contact the called to advise of status. • Office Personnel will always contact facility within 24 hours to advise if the item has been found or not. If the item has been found, appropriate arrangements for its return to the facility or to the owner shall be made. Sodexo Laundry Stockton shall not be held responsible for the cost to return such items to the owner. 12.09 -40-
