Sodexo Laundry Stockton Transportation Manager would immediately call
the California Highway Patrol, Cal -Trans, or California Department of Public
Safety and ascertain which highways and bridges are open.
The Transportation Manager would then route the delivery trucks so as to
expedite delivery of clean linens to the affected customers.
The Transportation Manager or a Customer Service Manager would then
phone the affected customer and communicate the estimated time of arrival of
clean linens.
17.5. Restricted Ability to Process Linen
• Actions to be taken where disaster has affected Sodexo Laundry Stockton's
ability to process customer's linens.
• Contingency back-up plans in the event that any disaster such as earthquake,
fire, flood or any other emergency which would create a situation whereby
Sodexo Laundry Stockton was unable to process linens would be
communicated to all customers as soon as it was determined that Sodexo
Laundry Stockton was unable to operate its laundry processing plants.
• Transportation Manager would phone all customers immediately upon
finding that Sodexo Laundry Stockton could not operate its plant. In the
event phone communications were to be disrupted due to a disaster, Sodexo
Laundry Stockton dispatchers and customer service representatives would be
notified and they would make personal contact with all customers as to how
and when to expect delivery of clean linens.
• Cal -Trans and the California Highway Patrol would be contacted by Sodexo
Laundry Stockton plant management to determine if any highways, streets,
bridges, etc. were closed due to disaster of any kind. The Transportation
Manager would then re-route all delivery trucks necessary due to road/bridge
closures.
• If it is determined that the emergency/disaster will be short lived and that
Sodexo Laundry Stockton's plant would be processing linens within twenty-
four hours of the disaster, Sodexo Laundry Stockton may process and deliver
all linens in-house. The company is prepared to use all office staff,
management, and to bring in additional supervisory and management staff
from the surrounding company laundry facilities. All management, office and
supervisory personnel would remain on duty until regular processing
schedules are attained.
12.09 -43-
