Prior to transfer from any location, location personnel must: <br />a. Review and secure all necessary paperwork and materials. <br />b. Verify that materials are stocked in the transfer vehicle or are available to the <br />assigned transfer personnel (see Vehicle Care and Appearance). <br />2. Place decedents into transfer vehicle as space allows, never stacking decedents or <br />containers on top of each other nor should two decedents occupy the same wheeled cot. <br />Removal transfers: <br />1. If the decedent is at a residence or if the client family is present, dispatch two Company <br />representatives to perform the removal. <br />2. Depending upon the decedent's condition (i.e. weight) or other obstacles (e.g. stairs) at <br />the removal location, dispatch two or more Company representatives to perform the <br />removal. <br />3. During a removal transfer, the removal personnel: <br />a. Meets the client family or medical/nursing home or other personnel. <br />b. If the client family is present, lets the family know what to expect during the transfer <br />(see Dignity University "The Promise: Home Removals and Transfers"). <br />c. If assistance is required in moving the decedent, contact the dispatching location and <br />request that more personnel be dispatched. <br />d. Removes soiled linens and offers to dispose of them in accordance with Company <br />standards (see the HSE3 Bloodborne Pathogens procedure) unless otherwise specified <br />by the client family. <br />e. Makes the bed. <br />f. Removes the decedent from the location. <br />g.
