Field Operations Policy and Procedures <br /> a. Turn on the ventilation system to full power. <br /> b. Apply household ammonia to a formaldehyde spill to neutralize it then clean up the <br /> spill with a paper towel, cloth towel or mop. <br /> c. Rinse the paper towel, cloth towel or mop used to clean up the formaldehyde spill <br /> with clean water prior to disposal or storage for future use. <br /> CAUTION: <br /> • Do not use bleach or bleach solutions to clean up a formaldehyde spill. Mixing <br /> bleach and formaldehyde can generate chlorine gas, hydrochloric acid fumes and <br /> other potentially hazardous compounds. <br /> • Do not use bleach or bleach solutions with ammonia based cleaning solutions when <br /> cleaning up a formaldehyde spill. Mixing bleach and ammonia generates a chemical <br /> reaction that can generate hydrochloric acid chlorine gas, hydrazine and other <br /> potentially hazardous compounds. <br /> 9.3 Security Requirements <br /> Policy. Security of facilities and decedents in the care of the Company must be maintained by <br /> all Company representatives at all times, with consideration for the dignity of all decedents. <br /> Procedure. <br /> Decedent and Valuables Security: <br /> 1. Lock unattended removal vehicles at all times. <br /> 2. Perform delivery/unloading of decedents in a restricted area, out of public view. <br /> 3. Secure valuables in a designated locked, secure area that is used only to store decedent <br /> personal effects. <br /> Preparation Area Security: <br /> 1. Establish preparation rooms and areas in which mortuary services (i.e. embalming, <br /> cosmetizing, casketing, refrigeration and dressing) are performed as restricted areas, <br /> away from public view or occupancy. (See Refrigeration Unit Requirements for <br /> additional information). <br /> 2.
