Infection Control, Continued <br /> III. Tracking of Medical Waste <br /> A. Once a month the Medical Waste Hauling company will collect the used <br /> medical waste from each site. The inside bag must be twisted and tied <br /> before the driver can remove it from the site. He is not to tie the bag. A <br /> tracking bar code sticker is placed on the 20-gallon container to be picked <br /> up by the company. The shipment will be accompanied by a shipping <br /> document. If there is no waste to be picked up that month, the hauling <br /> company is to be notified by telephone 48 hours prior to the scheduled pick- <br /> up time. <br /> B. A record of the pick-up documents will be kept for 3 years. <br /> IV. Surface Cleaning <br /> A. Counter tops and other flat surfaces <br /> 1. Surfaces are to be kept clean with a hospital disinfectant spray on a <br /> regular basis. <br /> 2.
