Autoclave Procedure <br /> Policy: <br /> When appropriate, instruments used to Delta Health Care shal be autoclaved according to the <br /> procedures outlined below. The shall be considered sterile for a period of six(6)months <br /> when packaged, dated, and stored according to this procedure. <br /> Procedure: <br /> 1. Using gloves, clean all instruments with Septisol and rinse thoroughly prior to packaging. <br /> 2. Medi-Puls packaging shall be used for containers. <br /> 3. Insert instruments into package and close securely. <br /> 4. Date package. <br /> 5. Place packages loosely in autoclave tray in chamber and close door. <br /> 6. Proceed according to sterilizing instructions attached to autoclave. Sterilize packages 30 <br /> minutes at 250°degrees Fahrenheit with 20 lbs of pressure. <br /> 7. Allow packages to air dry thoroughly prior to removal from chamber. <br /> 8. Check to be sure the word `STERILE' appears on the package, indicating sterility. <br /> 9.
