Box 2 99
Stockton, C 95201
Subject: olid Waste Disposal
Gentlemen:
The revisions recently incorporated into the California Solid Waste Manage-
ment and Resource Recovery Act of 1972 prompted a review of the Act by
our office.
At our Lathrop, California facility, the following materials are disposed on
our property:
a) contaminated cullet - scrap glass
b) non-hazardous constituents of contaminated batch
materials; i.e. , sand, soda ash, limestone, etc.
The quantities vary; however, efforts to reuse much of this material as well
as the minimization of its generation have been implemented and are observed.
Based on our assessment of the Act, it appears that a permit is required for
this facility if we wish to continue disposing of these materials on our site.
Would you please verify the correctness of our assessment and, if a permit
is required, please forward the necessary information to our office.
Very truly yours,
C
Charles F.
