An area of the
plant groundsis set aside for this purpose; it consists of approximately
18 acres. Discarded materials and their composition of the total fill
by weight include:
Plastic (3%)
Metal stripss- (3%)
Wood
Scrap glass (20%)
Glass batch dust (72/0)
The glass batch dust consists of the following chemical constituents
(percentages are approximate and may vary, depending on the particle size
of raw materials received) :
Si02 49% Dolomite (MgCO3,CaCO3) 23%
Na2CO3 19% Na2SO4 1%
Limestone (CaCO3) 60/. Fe203 2%
This area may contain 10,000 - 20,000 tons of material at this time; the
anticipated disposal volume is 5-20 tons per week in the future. Because
of the relatively inert nature of the disposed materials, we trust that this
site can be regarded as a Class III site, per California regulations.
If you have any questions on this matter, please advise.
Very truly yours
- 9.
Thomas J.
