0
Permitting Activities
The facility was permitted on March 2, 1978, by the San Joaquin
Local Health District with approval granted by the State Solid
Waste Management Board on February 10, 1978. Other permits that
conditioned the facility were Waste Discharge Requirements #74-353
(updated #85-005) issued by the California Regional Water Quality
Control Board - Central Valley Region and Development Plan #76-117
issued by San Joaquin county Planning Department.
The lastalx-ea to receive waste, landfill K, stopped receiving waste
in November 1987. Final cover was installed by June 1988. All
other landfills on site were closed prior to 1987 with two feet of
soil. since no waste was disposed of after November 1987, we have
concluded that the J-M Manufacturing facility should not be
regulated under the closure and post-closure maintenance
regulations of Title 14, California Code of Regulations, Division
3, Article 3 .4.
If you have any questions, please call Greg Oliveira, Registered
Environmental Health Specialist, of my staff at (209) 468-3459.
9_ KaufmProgram Manager
Environmen all Health Division
FK/GO: lm
cc: William Harris, Plant Manager
J-M Manufacturing
