1. GENERAL <br />• The tank is to be an upright, cylindrical, flat bottomed, steel tank 211-6" <br />inside diameter, 16'-0" high. As installed it must meet the requirements <br />of the San Joaquin County,Building Code (The Uniform Building Code, 1973 <br />of the International Conference of Building Officials (UBC 1973) ). <br />The tank is to be designed for the storage of agitated TRANSITE slurry, <br />maximum specific gravity 1.2. Tank must adequately support the features <br />called out in this specification during continuous 24 hour -a -day operation. <br />2. SCOPE OF WORK <br />A. Contractor will perform all required engineering, design, fabrication, <br />shipping, erection,.installation, and painting of the tank and its <br />Features listed in Section 5 below. <br />B. Contractor is required to obtain all required permits and licenses except: <br />The Plant Engineer or his representative shall obtain the building permit, <br />any required foundation soil analysis, and final approval by the Building <br />Inspector of the installed tank. <br />C. Upon the requesr of the Plant Engineer or his representative, the <br />Contractor will provide such engineering data as the San Joaquin County <br />Building Inspector may require to demonstrate that the tank meets <br />UBC 1973 requirements. <br />3.. WORK SCHEDULE AND TIME OF COMPLETION <br />A. The work shall be carried out in a timely fashion in accordance with a <br />schedule provided by the Contractor and approved by the Owner. <br />B. The installed tank is to be ready for the leak test of Section 7 within <br />nineteen (19) weeks of signing the contract. <br />C. Final painting or touch-up painting is to be completed within five (5) <br />working days of successful completion of the leak test and drain down. <br />4. CONTRACT DRAWINGS <br />The schematics, J -M Stockton drawings numbered 2-188-4 August 4, 1975 Revision, <br />2-189 ' -5 July 15, 1975 Revision, and 2-190-4 dated August 4, 1975 are part of <br />these specifications. <br />0 <br />
