observation wells to depths of approximately 60 feet bgs. Groundwater samples will be collected
from the four deep SVE wells. These four deep SVE wells will investigate the deeper portion of the
vadose zone at the LNC site. It is anticipated that approximately four to eight additional 2-inch
diameter Schedule 40 PVC SVE wells will be drilled to a depth of about 25 feet bgs at the LNC site
to investigate the shallow vadose zone at the LNC site.
In addition to the above described effort, a single groundwater monitoring well will be installed
immediately downgradient of the LNC site in order to monitor groundwater conditions within the
first water bearing zone. This well will be drilled and completed to a depth of 60 feet bgs.
The shallow and deep SVE wells will be used for SVE pilot testing. If significant water is produced
during the SVE pilot test from the deep wells completed in the groundwater table then these wells
will be backfilled with sand in the wellbore to a depth of approximately five feet above the
groundwater surface. At that point the wells will be used only to extract soil vapor from the deeper
zones.
(3)Soil gas and groundwater laboratory analysis for volatile organic compounds.
(4)Investigation derived waste disposal.
(5)Data evaluation and reporting.
(6) Site Characterization Report and Remediation Feasibility Study.
In addition, a Soil Vapor Extraction(SVE)Pilot Test Workplan has been prepared and is presented
within this Workplan. The SVE Pilot Test Workplan is designed to obtain sufficient information
to determine if a full-scale SVE soil remediation system is technically viable and warranted.
Main\D:\Cnvironmenla1\LNC\\101 52007,wpd 3
