A Field Sampling Plan(FSP)has been prepared to identify a series of protocols for field operations.
A review of the Consultant personnel and associated subcontractors is described in the Project
Management section of the Workplan. A quality assurance program(QAP) has been developed to
insure valid data collection and analysis. Data management and technical reporting procedures are
also described in the Workplan.A Health and Safety Plan(HSP)has been developed to be used by
the consultant and subcontractors.
The work is anticipated to be initiated within thirty(30) days after workplan approval has been
received from the RWQCB regulatory agency staff. It is anticipated that field work will begin
within forty five (45) days after obtaining required regulatory agency soil boring and monitoring
well permits. It is anticipated that all soil borings and/or SVE wells and the one groundwater
monitoring well will be installed approximately sixty(60)days after receipt of permits. The SVE
Pilot Test is anticipated to be conducted within 60 days after the completion of the SVE wells.
The Site Characterization Report will include a summary of all past relevant work reported in
previous LNC site investigations. The Site Characterization Report will provide an estimate of the
horizontal and vertical distribution of VOCs in the subsurface vadose zone at the LNC site. An
estimate will be made of the volume and concentration of individual VOC constituents remaining
in the vadose zone beneath the LNC site.
A review of potential soil remediation techniques that may be considered to be applied to the site
will be made as part of the Remediation Feasibility Study (RFS). Based on existing subsurface
information it currently appears that soil vapor extraction may be the most likely recommended soil
remediation method.
Main\D96n0ronme.W%LNC%\10152007.wpd 4
