Lodi City Landfill November 16,2011
North of Awani Drive,Lodi,California Project No. 104690061
primary intent of the investigation will be to evaluate compliance of the waste disposal sites with
applicable regulations, the findings from the investigations will be used to recommend appropri-
ate remedial actions and, if applicable, referral to other state and local regulatory agencies. It
should be noted that the EHD/LEA and other regulatory agencies may require other requirements
in accordance with applicable sections of CCR Title 27.
3. SITE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION
According to the CalRecycle Solid Waste Information System (SWIS) website, the Lodi City
Landfill is located north of Awani Drive and Mokelumne River Drive in Lodi California. The
landfill is described as a 3.7 acre former waste disposal site bound to the northwest,north,north-
east, and east by the Mokelumne River, the south and southeast by residential structures, and to
the west by an elevated railroad bed and tracks, followed by a gated residential community. The
lateral extent of the waste disposal site is described as the currently undeveloped, graded land,
roughly rectangular in shape that occurs south of the bend in the Mokelumne River, owned by
the City of Lodi (Figures 1 and 2). However, based on review of available historical aerial pho-
tographs, although not known at this time, it appears that wastes may also have been disposed of
to the adjacent west of the railroad tracks in the area that corresponds to the former winery and
the current location of the gated residential community. Therefore, areas to be investigated in this
work plan are as approximately indicated on Figure 2 of this work plan and include accessible
areas both west and east of the railroad tracks. According to the CalRecycle SWIS website, the
Lodi City Landfill is located at latitude 38.14875 and longitude-121.27025.
4. OWNERSHIP AND OPERATORS
Based on information on the CalRecycle SWIS database, the site is owned by
City of Lodi
221 West Pine
Lodi, California 95240
(209)333-6717
IMM61R&W.&C
