kn KLEIN FELDER
3 ASSUMPTIONS AND LIMITATIONS
3.1 ASSUMPTIONS
1. The field activities can be conducted in one day.
2. No hazardous materials will be encountered in the debris. If hazardous materials (e.g.,
burned drums) are encountered, or organic vapor readings of more than 1 ppmv are
found, the work plan and sampling plan will be reassessed.
3. Adequate work space and access will be provided. Kleinfelder will attempt to trench at
the proposed locations. The trenches will be ,excavated with an excavator. If the
trenching equipment cannot be positioned, alternative sample will be selected by the
Kleinfelder project manager.
4. In the event potentially hazardous materials are identified visually or by other methods
within the exploratory trenches, the trenching operation will be immediately terminated
and a new course of action will be developed and proposed to the regulatory agencies.
3.2 LIMITATIONS
All information gathered during the study by Kleinfelder is considered confidential and will be
released only upon written authorization by the client or as required by law. California law
requires a person to inform the state if a situation is encountered that can be considered an
immediate endangerment to the public's health or welfare and/or to the environment.
The scope of services described here is not intended to be inclusive, to identify all potential
concerns, or to eliminate the possibility of environmental problems. Kleinfelder will assume no
responsibility or liability whatsoever for any claim, loss of property value, damage, or injury
which results from pre-existing hazardous materials being encountered or present on the project
site, or from the discovery of such hazardous materials.
23-4824150-A00/CR96S052 Page 6 of 7 June 7 1996
Copyright 1996 Kleinfelder,Inc.
