Polluted ground <br /> water has been detected 1000 feet downgradient to the <br /> northeast of the landfill. The ground water treatment systerh " <br /> is designed to 400 gpm (580,000 gpd) of extracted ground. <br /> water. About 305 gpm (440,000 gpd) will be discharged to <br /> Littlejohns Creek, a tributary of the San Joaquin River. <br /> Pumped ground water will be treated by passing it through N� <br /> an air stripper, then the stripped air serially passed through <br /> two exchangeable activated carbon units, and the water dis-„ <br /> charged to a holding tank prior to discharge to Littlejohns <br /> Creek. <br /> Persons wishing to comment on the proposed requirements <br /> are invited to submit same in writing to the Regional Board <br /> no later than 15 June 1992. All comments received by this <br /> date and comments received at the public hearing will be <br /> considered. <br /> The Regional Board file on this matter is open to the public <br /> for inspection and copying between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., <br /> weekdays, at the Board's office.
