El Dorado Street
Stockton, CA 95202-1997
FIRST QUARTERLY MONITORING REPORT 1991, AUSTIN ROAD LANDFILL, STOCKTON, SAN
JOAQUIN COUNTY CASE #2148
Your contour map shows flow in a westerly direction while the text describes
groundwater flow in a north easterly direction. Also, the groundwater
contamination plume is directed to the northeast. We suggest that you recheck
or resurvey well elevations and water level elevations to determine if
groundwater flow is in the westerly direction. Groundwater pumping patterns
are also a possible cause of this apparent change in groundwater flow
directions. We suggest that you review local pumping patterns. Is it
possible that MW-1 is affected by nearby well extractions.?
If the groundwater flow direction is to the west, this may affect groundwater
investigation and cleanup activities. Please let me know what you determine.
ERT EVANS
Area Engineer
RAE:dlc
cc: Ms. Janet Paige, California Integrated Waste Management Board, Sacramento
Mr. Ed Padilla, San Joaquin County, Public Health Services, Stockton
Mr. J.
