Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
REQUEST FOR EXPLA14ATION OF LANDFILL PERMIT FEE: AUSTIN ROAD
LANDFILL
We received your invoice dated June 15, 1993 for a "LANDFILL PERMIT
FEE" for Austin Road Landfill (copy attached). In talking to Ed
Padilla of your staff I learned that this $500 annual fee was being
reinstituted this year (apparently you stopped collecting the fee
after the per ton solid waste facility inspection fees were adopted
in 1990).
It was my understanding that when the per ton fee was adopted, it
would be used to recover all of Environmental Health's solid waste
facility -related costs. Is this not true? Can you please explain
why the $500 p-ermit fee is now being reinstituted?
Thank you for taking the time to respond to our questions.
MIKE MILLER
SOLID WASTE MANAGER
cc: Ed Padilla, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Div.
Stephen Chen, DDPW-SW&B
"STOCKTON ...
