C:TY OF STOCKTO%
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
CITY HALL
425 N. EL DORADO STREET
STOCKTON, CA 95202-1997
October 27, 1992
Mr. Ken Scribner
State of California
The Reclamation Board
1416 Ninth Street, Room 455-6
Sacramento, CA 95814-5594
APPLICATION NO. 15940 - CITY OF STOCKTON AUSTIN ROAD LANDFILI
GROUND WATER REMEDIATION •
I'm writing in follow up to recent phone conversations we've had
concerning the status of Permit Application No. 15940. We need this
permit so that a discharge pipe and outlet structure can be
installed in the North Fork of South Little Johns Creek. This will
allow discharge of treated ground water from the proposed Austin
Landfill Ground Water Treatment Plant to Little Johns Creek.
One reason why we are eager to receive the permit and begin
construction of the project is that the Regional Water Quality
Control Board expects us to be making reasonable progress toward
getting the project completed. Our next step is to obtain
authorization from the Stockton City Council to call for
construction bids. We are ready go ahead with this but have held
off until we know whether or not you will want changes in the
project plans before approving the permit.
It has been several months since we filed our permit application.
I know that the permit review process can take time and you have
been trying to keep it moving but is their anything that can be
done to expedite this permit? Please let me know if I can help in
any way.
We would appreciate anything you could do.
MIKE MILLER
SOLID WASTE MANAGER
cc: Robert Evans, Regional Water Quality Control Board
Ed Padilla, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Div.
Jim Giottonini/Stephen Chen/John Fukumoto, City of Stockton
