October 21, 1992
Ed Padi Ila
Senior Environmental Health Specialist
San Joaquin County Local Health District
445 N. San Joaquin Street
P.O. Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Re: Approval of use of a geosynthetic cover material in wet weather .
(a pi lot program)
Mr. Ed Padilla:
GAMBI ENTERPRISES INC., is seeking approval of a pilot program for the use
of a geosynthetic fabric cover during periods of wet weather. The fabric will be
placed over the active face ( approx. 75'-125' ) at the end of the day. The fabric
will be used only when GAMBI cannot use scrapers to place 6° of dirt to satisfy
the daily cover requirements during wet weather periods. This will insure that
we will be able to control: 1. Vectors 2. Odors 3. Blowing papers and litter
and 4. Fire.
If this plan meets with your approval, please notify us in writing. If any
further approvals or Permits are required, please contact our offices at
(209) 465-8404 advising us of such.
In the event of very wet conditions, we feel we should be prepared with an
alternative means of cover so that the refuse will never be exposed at the end of
the working day. What we are proposing is a pilot program for this winter and
full approval next winter. Thank you.
Sincerely y rs, .'
hil Giambastiani-President, GAMBI ENT.,INC.
cc Jerry Wickes & Mike Miller
