Mitigation Measures: <br />The Austin Road Sanitary Landfill has a RWQCB-approved <br />groundwater monitoring program as required by California Code <br />of Regulations, Title 23, Subchapter 15. Monitoring wells are <br />sampled on a regular basis. Volatile organic compounds have <br />been detected in groundwater beneath the landfill. A <br />Verification Monitoring Program, approved by RWQCB, is <br />currently underway. once the source and extent of <br />contamination is ascertained, a corrective -action plan will be <br />submitted to the RWQCB for approval. <br />B. Monitoring Plan: <br />The City must adhere to the groundwater monitoring provisions <br />included in the RWQCB Waste Discharge Requirements for the <br />landfill (Monitoring and Reporting Program No. 90-122). <br />
