(SIGNIFICANT) project and, specifically,bird abatement <br /> programs. The SMA shall also be notified. <br /> The project sponsor shall abide by any <br /> additional reasonable and feasible <br /> measures designated by this agency to <br /> mitigate bird population impacts that could <br /> be caused by the proposed project. <br /> (b)The project sponsor shall conduct a <br /> bird survey before construction of the <br /> project and monitor bird population after <br /> operation of the landfill expansion begins. <br /> The bird monitoring will be part of the <br /> Wildlife Hazard Management Plan. If <br /> follow-up survey shows an increase in bird <br /> populations,increase mitigation measures <br /> such as covering the fill areas as soon as <br /> possible and using noise-makers and other <br /> measures as necessary to discourage birds <br /> from the site until bird population levels <br /> return to the level found in pre-expansion <br /> surveys. <br /> (c)As required by California Code of <br /> Regulation 17258.10(b), Ai rt Safety, <br /> 2 <br />
