Austin R 0 <br /> oad Landfill Esion Project <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT MITIGATION MEASURE LEVEL OF <br /> SIGNIFICANCE <br /> AFTER <br /> MITIGATION <br /> F.2 Implementation of the proposed project (a)Under current project plans,31 of the LS <br /> could remove up to thirty-two valley oaks, 32 valley oaks are along the perimeter of <br /> averaging approximately thirty inches dbh. the site or are in the designated wildlife <br /> (SIGNIFICANT) preserve adjacent to the creek and would <br /> not be removed. <br /> (b)Prior to initiation of any activity within <br /> a 100-foot radius of a valley oak proposed <br /> for retention,the project proponent shall <br /> install clearly visible temporary fencing <br /> around the dripline of the Valley oak to <br /> prevent inadvertent damage during on-site <br /> activities.Fencing shall be removed upon <br /> completion of activity within the oak's <br /> vicinity. Site workers shall be advised of i <br /> the sensitivity of on-site oaks to <br /> disturbance. <br /> (c)Where avoidance of a valley oak(s)as <br /> specified above is determined infeasible, <br /> the project proponent shall replace each <br /> oak as required by the County's Natural <br /> Resources Regulations: three oaks shall be <br /> planted in appropriate locations for each <br /> oak removed.Replacement trees shall be <br /> the same species as the removed trees. <br /> Replacement trees shall be planted on the <br /> site in association with the Wetland <br /> Mitigation and Monitoring Plan described <br /> under Mitigation Measures F.1(b). <br /> (d)To ensure the success of mitigation, <br /> planted and retained trees shall be <br /> monitored for a period of five years <br /> following initial disturbance within the <br /> vicinity of a retained tree or following <br /> planting of a replacement tree.
