(Twining) were authorized by the <br />City of Stockton with Purchase Order Number 079063 dated March 27, 1996. <br />The purpose of this study was to perform a preliminary clay borrow investigation on <br />approximately 126 acres located north of the existing landfill site. <br />SAMPLING 4ND TESTING PROCEDURES <br />The area identified for investigation (site) by City of Stockton personnel was a parcel <br />located on the north boundary of the Austin Road Landfill between Newcastle Road and <br />Little John Creek. The site is shown on Drawing 1. A series of shallow excavations (P-1 <br />through P-8) were dug with a backhoe on the site at various locations to investigate soil <br />conditions from the surface to approximately 10 feet below site grade (BSG). Excavation <br />locations are shown on Drawing 1. During the digging, the soil conditions were observed <br />by a California Registered Geologist and annotated on field logs. Field logs were used to <br />create final pit logs, copies of which are attached to this report. <br />Soil samples were collected during the digging of the pits from various intervals as <br />determined by the Registered Geologist for physical testing in the laboratory. The pit logs <br />identify the soil intervals sampled in each pit.
