r <br /> Notice of Public Hearing 2 1 April 1998 <br /> Austin Road Landfill <br /> San Joaquin County <br /> All other persons wishing to testify or provide comments are interested persons and not <br /> designated parties. Such interested persons may request status as a designated party for <br /> purposes of this hearing by submitting such request in writing to the Board no later than 8 May <br /> 1998. The request must explain the basis for status as a designated party and in particular how <br /> the person is directly affected by the discharge. <br /> Persons wishing to comment on this noticed hearing item are invited to submit such <br /> comments in writing to the Regional Board no later than 8 May 1998.All written <br /> comments received by this date will be included in the administrative record before the <br /> Board. Staff may provide responses to comments. Written testimony or comments <br /> submitted after 8 May 1998 will not be accepted and not incorporated into the <br /> administrative record unless allowed by the Board Chair,based on extreme hardship or <br /> unusual circumstances. <br /> All interested persons may speak at the Board meeting, and may orally summarize their <br /> written submittals. Oral testimony will be limited in time by the Board Chair(typically no <br /> more than 15 minutes for designated parties and 3 minutes for other interested persons). <br /> Oral testimony must be relevant. Groups of speakers will be expected to select a <br /> spokesperson and not be repetitive. <br /> After considering comments or objections, the Board may adopt the permit. Any action of the <br /> Board may be appealed to the State Water Resources Control Board within 30 days of the action. <br /> Anyone having questions on the permit should contact Patricia Leary at(916) 255-3023. The <br /> proposed item and related documents may be inspected and copied at the Regional Board's office <br /> at 3443 Routier Road, Suite A, Sacramento, California,weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 <br /> p.m. by appointment. <br /> Please bring the above information to the attention of anyone you know who would be interested <br /> in this matter. <br /> Kenneth Landau, Supervising Engineer <br />
