6 WASTE COVER <br /> Waste cover at the site will consist of daily cover, intermediate <br /> cover, and final cover. <br /> 6. 1 Daily cover <br /> The Operator shall be responsible for excavation, transport, <br /> placement, and compaction of daily cover. Daily cover shall <br /> consist of on-site excavated materials placed at least six inches <br /> thick at the end of each day to cover all exposed waste (CCR <br /> 17684) . The daily cover shall be placed only after the waste has <br /> been compacted according to Section 5.2. The Operator shall not <br /> place daily cover over waste until it is compacted to the ultimate <br /> grade for that day, unless otherwise approved by the County. <br /> The daily cover shall be - moved from the excavation area by an <br /> earthmover scraper, transported to the waste to be covered and <br /> deposited by the scraper. The daily cover thickness shall be a <br /> minimum of six inches and shall not exceed 10 inches. Placement of <br /> daily cover in excess of this amount may be requested in writing by <br /> the CDPW. .After placement by the scraper the cover shall be <br /> compacted sufficiently to prevent wind blown dust and exposed <br /> waste. <br /> 6.2 Intermediate Cover <br /> Intermediate cover shall be at least 18 inches thick and placed <br /> over areas as required by CCR 14, 17684. The County may require <br /> that the Operator place additional intermediate cover over specific <br /> Landfill areas. This requirement will be documented by the County <br /> in writing to the Operator. <br /> 22 <br />
