7 SITE DRAINAGE
7.1 Perimeter drainage
Perimiter drainage facilities consist of drainage ditches, culverts
or other drainage structures which are outside of the ultimate
design footprint of the Landfill. These facilities will be
designed and constructed by the CDPW. Should the CDPW require
construction of potions of these facilities by the Operator, the
work would be performed outside the scope of this operations plan.
7.2 Interim Drainage
Interim drainage consists of all drainage berms, ditches or other
facilities, which are within the ultimate design footprint of the
Landfill. The design of all interim drainage facilities will be
performed by the CDPW. Construction of interim drainage facilities
is described in 7. 2 . 1 and 7. 2 .2 .
7.2.1 Fill Areas Above Natural Terrain
The Operator shall construct drainage berms and ditches necessary
to divert storm water. flows away from waste and from the Landfill
area to the perimeter drainage ditch for the site. The CDPW will
provide the engineering design specifications for this work. The
majority of the storm water flows will be directed from the
Landfill by sloping the Landfill face toward the perimeter. The
Operator shall accomplish this by sloping of interim landfill lifts
as directed by the County, providing interim cover as described in
Section 6. 2, and providing drainage berms over the site face at
grades above the working area to divert storm water away from
landfilling operations.
24
