The OWNER will perform up to two as-built surveys of each layer. If more than
two surveys are required for any layer due to the EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR's
deficiencies in providing required thickness or grade, the costs for these additional
surveys will be at the EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR's sole expense and the cost
of these surveys will be subtracted from payments to the EARTHWORK
CONTRACTOR.
1.6 SURVEYS FOR MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT
A. The aerial topographic survey depicted on the Construction Drawings, as modified
by the preconstruction survey, will be used as the base topography for
measurement calculations. The DESIGN ENGINEER shall provide the
EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR with an electronic file of the aerial topographic
survey.
B. When the Specifications or the OWNER require Bid Schedule items of Work to
be measured by surveying methods, the EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR shall
perform the surveys. The EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR will reduce the field
notes and calculate final quantities for payment purposes. The calculations will be
given to the OWNER and QA/QC CONSULTANT for review.
1.7 SURVEYING ACCURACY AND TOLERANCES
A. Control traverse field surveys and computations shall be performed to an accuracy
of at least 1:25000.
B.
