2 General Requirements <br /> 2.1 Meetings <br /> In order to facilitate construction, and to clearly define construction goals and activities, close <br /> coordination between the Owner,Design Engineers,QA/QC Consultant,and Contractor is essential. <br /> To meet this objective, pre-construction and progress meetings will be held. <br /> 2.1.1 Pre-Construction Meeting <br /> Following bid award, a pre-construction meeting will be held at the site. The purpose of this <br /> meeting, attended by the Owner, Contractor, Design Engineer, QA/QC Consultant, and others <br /> designated by the Owner, will be to: <br /> • Review the construction drawings, specifications, CQA Manual, work area security, <br /> health and safety procedures, and related issues. <br /> • Provide all parties with relevant project documents. <br /> ® Review responsibilities and qualifications of each party. <br /> • Define lines of communication and authority. <br /> • Establish reporting and documenting procedures. <br /> • Review procedures for handling submittals. <br /> • Review testing equipment and procedures. <br /> • Review procedures for field directives and change orders. <br /> • Establish testing protocols and procedures for correcting and documenting construction <br /> or non-conformance. <br /> ® Establish weekly meeting schedule. <br /> • Conduct a site inspection to discuss work areas, stockpile areas, lay down areas, access <br /> roads,haul roads, and related items. <br /> • Review the project schedule and critical path items. <br /> • Contractor's work plan. <br /> Page 4 <br />
