• Verify that crews working on the geogrid do not smoke, wear shoes that could damage <br /> the geogrid, or engage in activities that could damage the geogrid. <br /> • Verify that the geogrid is lain flat, free of wrinkles, and securely anchored. <br /> • Verify that adjacent panels are overlapped and seamed in accordance with the <br /> Specifications. <br /> • Verify that all slack is removed from the placed geogrid before soil or other geosynthetics <br /> are placed on top of it. <br /> • Examine the geogrid after installation to ensure that no potentially harmful foreign <br /> objects are present. <br /> • Do not allow tracked vehicles to drive on uncovered geogrid. <br /> • The QA/QC Inspector must inform both the QA/QC Manager and the Geosynthetics <br /> Contractor if the above conditions are not met. <br /> 4.6.3 Repairs <br /> Repair procedures include: <br /> • Patching--used to repair large holes, tears, and small defective areas. <br /> • Removal--used to replace large defective areas where the preceding method is not <br /> appropriate. <br /> Repair procedures shall be performed per specifications. <br /> Page 45 <br />
