POSTCLOSURE MAINTENANCE <br />8.2.1. Postclosure Schedule <br />The Foothill Sanitary Landfill will continue post closure maintenance for 30 years subsequent to <br />landfill closure. <br />8.2.2. Postclosure costs <br />The estimated annual postclosure maintenance costs are summarized in Appendix I. <br />8.3. FINANCIAL ASSURANCE <br />San Joaquin County submits, on a yearly basis, a letter to the regulatory agencies that includes <br />current dollars in their Closure/Postclosure Fund. The most recent letter was submitted in <br />May 26, 2005. A copy of this letter is attached in Appendix L. <br />Section 22215 of Title 27 requires operating landfills to maintain a financial capability to <br />compensate third parties for bodily injury or property damage. A demonstration of this financial <br />capability can be found in Appendix L. <br />San Joaquin County also maintains a financial assurance fund for corrective action costs related <br />to a release from the landfill requiring cleanup. The estimated cost for corrective action is shown <br />in Appendix L. The financial mechanism for this fund is a self insurance policy.
